HOTEL ZERO DEGREES ROLLS OUT RED CARPET FOR MISS ITALIA USA: New Boutique Hotel To Host Pageant Members with La Dolce Vita, Stamford Style

April 6, 2010 — Stamford, CT — After a four-month search that has taken them across the United States for ten different state-wide beauty pageants, the judges and 50 representative contestants of the Miss Italia USA 2010 are coming to Stamford for their final competition. Scheduled to be held on April 25 at 4 PM at the historic Palace Theatre, the event will crown the new Miss Italia USA, between 17 and 26 years of age, who best reflects the culture and beauty of her Italian heritage in her demeanor, charm and knowledge of the Italian language.

“We are delighted to be holding our important final competition in Stamford,” said, Fucsia Fitzgerald, the USA Program Coordinator, who has chosen Stamford’s new Zero Degrees Hotel to be their hotel host. “Everyone we have met, from city officials and Palace staff to the management of Hotel Zero Degrees, has welcomed us with professionalism and warmth, key factors in helping us choose the city for the pageant.”

Explaining that beauty pageants, by their very nature, are stressful for the contestants, he added, “It was important for us to find hotel accommodations that offer the kind of personalized services and low-key ambiance that Hotel Zero Degrees does. The fact that the hotel is within walking distance of the Palace Theater, shopping, restaurants and the Stamford train station was another big plus in selecting the hotel for their stay.”

Mia Schipani, Director of Business Development for the boutique hotel, said that the hotel prides itself on providing guests with an intimate atmosphere that caters to their wellbeing and comfort without the hustle and bustle of larger hotel chains. She said that guests choose the hotel for its city-center location and smaller size as well as its spacious rooms.

Each of the hotel’s 97 guest rooms is well designed with all the quality amenities and comfort discerning travelers are looking for, from a designer décor and spacious bathrooms with large soaking tubs or multi-jet showerheads to in-room Internet access and Ipod docking stations. Guests have complimentary access to the adjoining newly refurbished YMCA, including a 6-lane swimming pool and fully equipped fitness center, and enjoy daily Continental breakfast in the stunning hotel first-floor lounge.

“Everything about Hotel Zero Degrees speaks to a ‘home-on-the-road’ ambiance that other hotels in the area don’t offer,” said Schipani. “Our guests like being treated like ‘family’ and not like strangers. I can only imagine how important it is for the Miss Italia pageant contestants especially to enter their final competition relaxed and refreshed. We are honored to roll out the carpet for them, while they are our guests, and look forward to making their stay representative of la dolce vita, Stamford style, during their stay.”

Hotel Zero Degrees, opened in November 2009, is located at 909 Washington Boulevard, steps away from Stamford’s landmark downtown district. Priced from $159 per night, guest accommodations feature king-sized beds, ergonomically designed work areas, and spacious bathrooms. Suites with separate sitting areas are available.
